There are some OG origins and processes that get our juices flowing every year. Washed Ethiopians and specifically Sidama coffees rank highly amongst them. Our first Ethiopian coffee of the season comes from a new importer to us 'Coffee Legends'. We met Atri at this years London Coffee Festival and cupped his pre-shipped samples and were very impressed. We booked two coffees, this washed and the Rumudamo natural which will be released shortly. Atri unsurprisingly mentioned that their coffees had placed highly in Cup of Excellence competitions over the years including 2nd place in 2022.

Coffee is the main cash crop in this area, though many other crops grow here such as sugar cane, false banana, spices and vegetables. Cherries are sorted based on density and quality by floating them in large water tanks. Passing through a fermentation phase for 12-36 hours, the parchment coffee is then spread out on raised beds under the sun to dry.
