Operational changes during COVID-19

29.03.20

We, like everyone else have had to make some changes to the normal day-to-day of operating our small roasting business.

Firstly with all of our cafe's, restaurants and hotel customers being forced to close we are running a significantly reduced roasting schedule. The need for two staff has gone and I've furloughed my one employee according to the government advice.

If you've had coffee from us before you'll know we try and get orders fulfilled the same day (or at least next day) and out to you asap. We rely on the local Post Office to take our parcels and make daily runs before they close. Until this week that close time was 5pm. From today and until further notice our local Post Office will be closing at 3pm. They were faced with closure or reducing opening hours to protect their own staff.

For the foreseeable future this means there may be a delay getting your order dispatched.

Also, for those of you that have ordered before you'll know that we try and send out a nice little info card with each coffee. These cards are printed for us by a local printing company Stormpress who we've had a close relationship with since Crankhouse started. They have had to make significant operational changes themselves, and have minimised their on-site staffing and reduced production. This may mean that I can't get a quick top-up like I used to and your coffee may come without the card.

Please accept my apology for any delays or disappointments during this period.

Your continued support is hugely appreciated

Dave
