WCR x MiiR Lucy T. Smith 12Oz thermal cup

£20.00

Design forward, generosity driven drinkware brand MiiR has teamed up with World Coffee Research to create a range of products to raise money to protect and enhance the supply of quality coffee.

The future of quality coffee is not a foregone conclusion and few know that better than World Coffee Research, a non-profit that supports the development of varieties of coffee that are not only high yielding and climate resilient, but also delicious.

Partnering with Seattle-based drinkware brand, MiiR, World Coffee Research have collaborated with two artists to create a series of sustainable drinkware to raise both awareness and funds for their work. For every item sold, World Coffee Research will receive £5.

We've been making our own contribution to the work of WCR for the last three years and when we heard about this special project we were keen to be involved. These 12Oz (354ml) thermal camp cups show a design from Lucy T. Smith. We also have some 23oz thermo insulated bottles illustrated by Michael Buchino).

Lucy T. Smith is a multi-award winning botanical artist and illustrator best known for her work with Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Producing illustrations for the likes of David Attenborough, Smith creates using pen, ink and in some cases water colour.

Rigorous in her approach, accuracy is key to Lucy’s work and this piece is no exception. Here her fine, intricate botanical drawings perfectly capture the beauty and fragility of the arabica coffee plant, which is the basis for 60% of global coffee production.
